I cannot wait to try this!
For reference, my hat with 3.5 mm hook and wt. 4 yarn had a flat top circle with diameter 7.5 cm, the height of the side was 3.5 cm, and the rim was 1.5 cm.
This is the cutest little bucket hat! I made a boy bunny and he will wear it proudly! Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing!!! I love how detailed you were with not just describing what to do but showing each step carefully. Showing the stitch that can get hid on the corner was so very helpful. 😊
I'm so glad that you enjoyed it and found it helpful! Thank you for watching and taking the time to share your kind words. I appreciate it 😀❤

I use bendable curling rods in the neck area, stuffing around it. Dollar store has them. Works wonders

Why did the head come out so wobblely😢
If your head came out wobbly, it means that you have understuffed your toy, likely in the shoulders and neck area.
Is there a written pattern?
There is an ad-supported free version on my blog or a printable ad-free pdf with all the sizes in my Ravelry and Etsy shops. The links to all of these can be found in the description box below the video

@@TheLoopyLamb thank you :)
I'm lost on 2 row are you working on the other edge to get the shape?🤔
Do you mean the edge of the blanket? Row 2, after you chain 1 and turn your work, you’ll work single crochets into singles and doubles into doubles and that starts to get the shape
The patterns remind me of the Azteca look ❤❤ I had a beautiful blanket with these patterns, using greens and golds, as a child. I would love to learn this process
Thanks for sharing! The greens and golds together must've been stunning! Thanks for watching my review ❤
Ok now all my blanket projects have to be half double crochet because this is an awesome step!! Thank you.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching
Sorry if it’s a silly question but do you use less yarn to make a sweater or something when it’s fingering weight rather than worsted / Aran weight?
How much yarn you use depends on the gauge, stitch pattern, garment size, and yarn weight. Generally, you will use more fingering weight yarn in terms of yardage, not weight, compared to worsted weight yarn for a garment. Fingering weight yarn is thinner, so it requires more stitches per inch than thicker yarns, meaning you’ll need more stitches and therefore more yarn to create the same size project as you would with thicker yarns.
Just bought this the other day. I am clueless to crochet
@@dustybunny6716 here is my beginner playlist if you’re ready to start learning ua-cam.com/play/PLnmyXwIWTWx2gnL5QuWCTfmlfHaDjNsW1.html&si=-X7QtSysio1QUI_t
It tangles and twists, how do u avoid this?
It depends on the method you’re using. For cakes, putting it on the floor so the yarn feeds upwards will help but you will have to untwist it every so often. For skeins, they knees to be untwisted every so often. I usually pull upwards and a part on my two yarn ends and the skein untwists
I still can’t figure out how to make the sides to my slippers 😭
@@CathrynBratton I’m sorry you’re having issues. I suggest reaching out to the author, Ira Rott if you’re in need of pattern assistance

Hey, i know you from Facebook! I didnt know you had a UA-cam too!
I sure do 😀 welcome!
Looks great 👍
Thank you 😀
for some reason today I cannot show transcripts. when I click More it just shows a page with the word Description.
I’m not sure what transcripts means. Do you mean captions? If so, it may be a UA-cam issue
@@TheLoopyLamb transcripts are the step by step instructions. they worked yesterday but they aren't working today.
@@cathysmith8556 I’m sorry they aren’t working for you. Transcripts appear to be a function that UA-cam adds on its own that I have no control over. There aren’t even any settings on my end for controlling whether they appear or not. I looked up how to find them and they appear to be working on my phone so it may hopefully be a temporary UA-cam glitch.
Thank you for this video! The comments were also helpful!
You’re welcome ☺️ I’m so glad it was helpful
I just want to thank you so much for posting this video!!! I’ve been looking through yt vids tryin to find one to help me learn how to do the shoes and this one is by far THE best video I have found! You did a thorough job in explaining and showing(I am a visual learner) and I appreciate that so much! If I could like the vid a thousand times I would!
I am so thrilled that you liked it so much! Thanks for taking the time to let me know that - I appreciate it! 😀❤
How many do I chain for the blanket size 36” by 48”?
I give this to you in the video at 5:55
This tutorial is amazing but when I was doing the head as I was stuffing the head was flopping a lot I even tried to stuff the neck part again but it wasn’t working❤
I’m glad you liked the tutorial. Unfortunately, it sounds like you still didn’t have sufficient stuffing in your doll and that is causing the head to flop. The doll should feel liked a firm orange. In future dolls, if you’re not confident with the amount of stuffing you have added or want to be extra sure that the neck will support the head, you could add something to support the neck before finishing stuffing the head and closing it up.
Where is the written pattern for this doll?
The links to all three parts of the written version on the doll pattern can be found at the crochet along home page here: theloopylamb.com/2023-amigurumi-advent-calendar-crochet-along/
Love this!
Thank you ☺️
So cute. Thank you
You’re welcome ☺️
Thank you so much for this in-depth review. You have answered all my questions about the book! My main concern was seeing if there were instructions regarding various ways to join the strips and now I know that is not addressed in the book. The idea of crocheting strips of varying patterns is fantastic. I have done this on my own for years but thought a guide might help me perfect my haphazard approach! Thank you again for this great review!
You're welcome! I'm so thrilled that you found it helpful 😀

Thank you for the review. I personally would not sew strips together because I don’t like to. I would crochet them together or I would plan strips that had the same stitch count or add a row where I add or delete stitches as needed to set up the next section. It is nice to see the sample blankets - both the color combos and stitch combos.
You're welcome! Thank you for watching 😀
I got this kit and I can not read it and I am a good crocheter. I have also made amigurime a I still can’t do it😢
I'm sorry you're struggling with the kit. The author does have a unique way of writing her patterns that can be tricky to understand for some. I would recommend reaching out to the publisher David and Charles or the author for pattern support. You can find the author on instagram here: instagram.com/sabrina_somers/
This review is fantastic! I recently purchased this book and the companion "Micro Crochet Motifs" book...the sheer number of included designs is incredible and wonderful. But the confusion between UK/US terms is spot on. I pretty comfortable with most types of charts, so this confusion seemed a surprising oversight. Everything else, layout, photographing, charting, as well as Steffi Glaves talent and creativity, is first rate Glad i found this review... I have become a new subscriber
I'm so glad that you found it helpful! Thank you for watching and subscribing! It's much appreciated 😀
Hi! Is this the same as MSC you use in the Festival Purse pattern? Thanks!
No, that is done differently than this stitch. This stitch only has 1 yarn under.
Thank you for taking your time to explain to us how to make this beautiful doll hat. Very well explain. Now my doll have a hat to wear. Thank u soooo much .Really appreciate your great work . Keep it up
You're welcome! Thank you for watching and taking the time to share such kind words with me. I appreciate you 😀
Hello, if I may ask, would you recomend this yarn for mosaic overlay crochet?
Sure, it can be used for overlay mosaic. There are some things to keep in mind though: all the colours in this line have flecks of colours that may disturb your image and you’ll likely want to use 2 very contrasting colours (like the one on the use here) to minimize the appearance of those flecks. I hope this helps
@@TheLoopyLamb Thank you so much! I would like to try Amma cal pattern by Tina with it. Thought Hartwood forest to be main colour, Gisburn forest for the frame, and various colours for the pattern. I really like the yarn 🙂 and those details in it 🙂
